Most new computers these days will come with
some type of
computer diagnostic program along with the operating system. These may
include
PC Health, or Dr. Watson as well as others that may come free with the
software
package. These programs are nice, but they are not great. They are not
the type
of registry software you would want for your new investment to provide
the best
protection and keep it running at its best.
As you search on the Internet, you will find
a wide
variety of programs offering registry cleaner and repair. Most of these
programs are offered as registry repair shareware. This means that the
program
is offering you a chance to try the software free for a limited amount
of time.
You will be able to test the features, see how easy the program is to
use and
if it has all the options that you are looking for. If you don't like
that
program, then try another shareware program, and keep doing this until
you find
the one meets all of your specifications.
It is important that you don't confuse the
term
"shareware" from the term "freeware". Freeware is developed
by an individual or a very small company, and since it is not a
licensed
software, they are unable to sell it. They are both down-loadable on
the
Internet.
Registry repair shareware will be a program
developed by
an individual or a company for use at a minimal charge. But unlike the
freeware, the product is protected by a copyright law. You will be
given a demo
or trial period where you will be able to use to preview the program.
Once the
time limit is up, the program becomes disabled. Even if you copy this
program,
which you may, and give it to your friend or family member, the same
time limit
will apply to them as well.
As far as safety is concerned when it comes
to registry
repair shareware, you are doing pretty well, if you are downloading
from a
company that is well known or has a long history of shareware. There
are a lot
of company's that will try to slip in some malware, worms, adware, and
spyware
into their programs, but these programs usually don't' stick around too
long.
